Mark Hornbacher

Hailing from southeast Michigan, Mark Hornbacher joins CBSM as an instructor for Year C, after filling in as a substitute teacher for several CBSM classes. His motivation for teaching comes from his personal love of Sacred Scripture and of teaching the Word of God!

His passion for sharing the Good News carries through his entire life, including his current position as VP of Programs at St. Paul Street Evangelization, a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to responding to the mandate of Jesus to preach the Gospel to all nations by taking the Catholic Faith to the streets. Their mission is to proclaim the Gospel in the public square.

It is no surprise, then, that Mark’s favorite scripture verse is Romans Chapter 8 which declares that those who are with Christ should not fear anything in the world!

When he is not at work in the classroom, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife, Gayle, and their sons, Mark and Bernard. He looks forward to watching movies, spending time outdoors and exploring the depths of theology.

Fun fact: Mark visited the Holy Land in 2005 and his favorite place there was the path crossing the Kidron Valley from the house of Caiaphas to the Mount of Olives.
