Like many of my peers at the time, my understanding of Catholicism was limited to what I learned in Catholic school. As a reader at Mass, I was painfully aware of the fact that I did not know the Bible. Attempts to read the Bible on my own or join small group discussions were not helpful. It was a blessing to join the CBSM as a student in 2010, the second year of the CBSM’s existence.
Studying the whole Bible through the CBSM changed my life . . . my faith grew in leaps and bounds, and my understanding of Catholicism and the Eucharist was intensified. I fell more deeply in love with the Triune God and with Sacred Scripture. This led me to pursue a Master’s Degree in Theology (Sacred Scripture) from Holy Apostles College and Seminary (graduated March 2024). So, I am returning to the CBSM this September—now as an instructor.
I come from a large family. I am retiring from my 24 years of employment with the State of Michigan and looking forward to sharing our beautiful and deep Catholic faith and Sacred Scripture.
My favorite Bible verse is one I discovered during my first year at the CBSM, and to which I keep returning: “”When you look for me, you will find me. Yes, when you seek me with all your heart, you will find me with you, says the LORD, and I will change your lot” (Jer 29:13).
