This is the best Bible study class that I have ever participated in (and there have been a lot). The amount of time given to small group discussions is...not too much and not too little. Going to other Bible study groups in the past has sometimes involved too much socializing time, and not enough time spent to really understand the Bible. The CBSM format is perfect!

Before CBSM, I had only read children's Bible stories and whatever we heard at Mass. I started off in "The Bible Course" curious on an intellectual level, but something changed in me during my CBSM classes. My prayers are more personal, I ask things of God now with the confidence of a child asking a parent. I had heard of God's mercy before CBSM, but I didn't truly understand it until I studied the Scriptures. My faith changed for the better through CBSM and I started seeking out ways to know more people of faith--I joined the Knights of Columbus, attend parish programs, and was encouraged toward Catholic marriage by my classmates.

I have fallen more deeply in love with the Lord's Word! The Old Testament never had as much appeal to me as the New Testament, but now, with CBSM, the beauty and truth and pre-figuring of Christ is jumping out so much more! I love the times when our teacher asks us to see how the Lord is speaking to us through Scripture. The personal applications are amazing!

I'd been listening to the Bible in a Year podcast with Fr. Mike Schmitz and it's been a great springboard to prepare my heart for CBSM. Must have been God's plan for me! This CBSM class has taken me much deeper into my understanding of Scripture. It has opened my eyes, heart, and my mind--and I truly feel I'm drawing much closer to God because of the Biblical School. I've never looked so forward to reading Scripture in all my life like this!

Prior to CBSM there were gaps in my understanding of the Bible. Now I understand the Mass readings, enjoy Mass more, and am able to share and explain my faith! I don't have all the answers, but with the Bible, I know where to look! CBSM gave me the habit of reading, praying, and studying with others--which is essential to being a disciple. I appreciate being Catholic more due to CBSM!

Because of CBSM I have returned to praying the Liturgy of the Hours. Years ago I was turned off by the vengeful, warrior mentality of the Pslams. Now that I've studied the Psalms in CBSM, I have a greater appreciation of their meaning in my life.

My teacher is wonderful. Her in-depth lectures and sense of humor mean I go back to re-listen to the audio recordings from class. The small group format within the class is awesome too. Learning what others glean from the Scriptures is helpful in seeing things I missed. Knowing that God had so many plans before humanity even existed shows how powerful and awesome God is!
