Bill Mullan

God began gently calling Bill at the age of eight. A pediatric stroke survivor raised in an atheist/agnostic household, Bill first encountered the beauty of the Catholic faith through the film The Shoes of the Fisherman and the novels of Morris West. By age eleven, he had fallen in love with the Catholic Church and embarked on a long, prayerful discernment that led him to full communion with the Church at Easter Vigil in 2011.

Bill brings a passion for Sacred Scripture to his role as a faculty member at the Catholic Biblical School of Michigan. He currently teaches the Old Testament prophets (Year C) and has also served as a guest instructor in both Old and New Testament courses. A devoted catechist for more than a decade, Bill has taught everyone from children preparing for the sacraments to adults deepening their faith.

Bill and his wife Julie live in Jackson, Michigan, and worship at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. They are proud parents to a family of mostly grown children with one still in high school. Bill’s personal pursuits reflect his love for Creation and truth, beauty and goodness. They include poetry, hiking, astronomy and travel. His life and catechesis testify to the truth that God calls each of us persistently to faith, love and service.
